An updated version of the 2024B Observing Tool (2024.1.1.3) is available for download that fixes an issue resolving new targets with SIMBAD. This update is optional.

The Gemini North observing database will be offline for several hours on Tuesday, August 20 Wednesday, August 21 while we perform hardware maintenance.
During this time the following services will be unavailable:
- Observing Tool synchronizations and file transfers
- Phase I Tool guide star probability queries
- Target of Opportunity triggers

The Gemini South observing database will be offline on Wednesday, July 31 for maintenance.
During this time Observing Tool synchronizations and file transfers will not be possible.

2024B OT Available
June 5th, 2024
The 2024B Gemini Observing Tool is now available for download. This update is required to access the Gemini Observing Databases.
The Installation Instructions are linked on the Observing Tool web page, and we recommend that everyone download their programs from the databases rather than import from saved XMLs.

During this time the following services will be unavailable:

The new 2024B Observing Tool will be available after the update and will be required to access the observing databases.
DRAGONS v3.2 Released - GHOST and new GMOS-S CCDs Support
April 2nd, 2024
The latest version of DRAGONS (v3.2.0) was released on 1 April, 2024 and includes fully integrated support for GHOST and support of the new GMOS-S CCDs installed late 2023. With this release, DRAGONS offers support for the science quality reduction of data from the GMOS, NIRI, GSAOI, and F2 imagers, as well as from the GMOS long-slit spectrograph (including nod-and-shuffle observations) and new GHOST high-resolution spectrograph. 2024 Large and Long Programs: Call for Letters of Intent to Propose

Letters of intent are now solicited for new Gemini Large and Long Proposals, to begin in semester 2024B. Letters are due by February 12 2024, and full proposals by April 1 2024.

US Phase I Server Offline
October 2nd, 2023
The Phase I servers encounted significant technical issues as we approach the 2024A proposal deadline. We believe that the problems have been resolved. We are extending the proposal deadline for all participants until 19:59 MST/Pacific (16:59 Hawaii, 23:59 Chile/Argentina/Brazil) on October 3, 2023 (11:59 October 4 in Korea) so that all valid proposals can be received. Please submit a Helpdesk ticket if you have any additional problems or questions.
